The Obesity Action Coalition (OAC), along with the YMCA of Greater New Orleans and Dryades YMCA, will help New Orleans residents to learn more about their weight and health, receive a free health screening, and much more during the YWM Healthy Living EXPO. The EXPO will be hosted at the Sheraton New Orleans on Aug. 12 from 8 a.m.-5 p.m. The event is free for all New Orleans residents to attend.

University Medical Center New Orleans has launched the first Palliative Medicine outpatient clinic in the New Orleans and Gulf Coast area. The new clinic opened August 1 in the Ambulatory Care Building at UMC. Inpatient palliative medicine services will begin a month later, Sept. 1, and will be fully staffed by Fellowship trained, Board Certified palliative medicine physicians.
