The Big Easy Fleur de Lis Parkinson’s Support Group holds meetings at East Jefferson General Hospital in the Esplanade I room of the first floor Conference Center. There is no fee to attend. The next meeting will be on Aug. 28 from 1-3 p.m.
The topic for the August meeting will be “Parkinson’s Disease: More than Motor Symptoms,” presented by Dr. Jay Rao, MD, Professor Emeritus of Neurology and Neurosciences and Professor of Clinical Neurology at LSU, and Mary Brocato, Executive Neuroscience Sales Specialist for ACADIA Pharmaceuticals.
On Aug. 16, the American Heart Association hosted its annual Research Reception. This year’s event was held at Tulane Medical Center, and showcased the American Heart Association’s funded research at the facility.
