Noelle Moreau, PhD, PT, associate professor of physical therapy at LSU Health New Orleans School of Allied Health Professions, and Kristie Bjornson, PT, PhD, associate professor of pediatrics at Seattle Children's Research Institute, are the co-principal investigators of a $2.7 million grant to study an innovative training method to improve walking in children with cerebral palsy (CP). The five-year grant was awarded by the Eunice Kennedy Shriver National Institute of Child Health & Human Development of the National Institutes of Health.
Lakeview Regional Medical Center will host an exercise class entitled LOUD for LIFE® for people who have previously completed the LSVT LOUD® treatment protocol with a speech language pathologist. The one-hour class will take place beginning on Jan. 7 at 11 a.m. in the hospital’s rehabilitation and sports medicine facility. Classes will occur each week through March 24, with no class held on Mardi Gras day, Feb. 25.
Nursing Schools Almanac has just released its 2019 rankings of the best U.S. nursing schools, and LSU Health New Orleans School of Nursing jumped two spots up in the top 10 and one spot among public nursing schools. LSU Health New Orleans School of Nursing is now ranked the #8 nursing school in the U.S. and #3 among public nursing schools.
