Dr. Donna Bridge, chief dental officer at Daughters of Charity Health Centers (DCHC), has been selected to join the seventh cohort of the National Oral Health Learning Institute (NOHLI) coordinated by the National Network for Oral Health Access (NNOHA).
This week, LSU Health New Orleans will host the National Institutes of Health’s All of Us Journey, a traveling, hands-on exhibit that raises awareness about the All of Us Research Program. All of Us aims to speed up health research and medical breakthroughs.
Working with the Louisiana Office of Behavioral Health, LSU Health New Orleans Department of Psychiatry will receive $7.2 million to address the opioid crisis in Louisiana. The funding, which will be directed toward the delivery of a combination of treatment, training, and consultation activities, is part of $23.5 million in grants over two years from the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention to the Louisiana Department of Health.
The Slidell Memorial Hospital (SMH) board of commissioners announced that they have selected Kerry R. Tirman, JD, MBA, FACHE, CPPS, of Moss Point, Miss., to replace long-time SMH leader Bill Davis as chief executive officer.
Tirman, who has 20 years of healthcare leadership experience, will take on the new position beginning Nov. 12.
