Leaders from Ochsner Hospital for Children, local dignitaries, and community members celebrated the opening of the Michael R. Boh Center for Child Development (Boh Center). The Boh Center is dedicated to improving the lives of children and adolescents with developmental disorders through comprehensive healthcare, research, and education. The Boh Center is located at 1319 Jefferson Highway, adjacent to Ochsner Health Center for Children.

A group of top national scientists will share their expertise on cancer disparities at a conference hosted by LSU Health New Orleans Stanley S. Scott Cancer on Nov. 1 from 3:00 - 5:30 p.m. at 1700 Tulane Avenue, 1st floor conference room. The conference is being held in conjunction with the 11th Annual American Association for Cancer Research Conference on The Science of Cancer Health Disparities in Racial/Ethnic Minorities and the Medically Underserved. Faculty, students, and the community are invited to attend this free event.

Children’s Hospital has named Toni K. Gross, MD, MPH, FAAP, to the newly created position of chief of the Emergency Department. In her current role, she has provided national leadership in Emergency Medical Services (EMS), currently serving on the board of governors with the Arizona EMS. She works as an attending physician in the Emergency Department at Phoenix Children’s Hospital.

LSU Health New Orleans has joined Vantedge Venture’s Innovation Alliance (VIA), a collective of health systems seeking to innovate and create sustainable solutions from the ideas developed by their network of clinicians and physicians. The Alliance will help LSU Health New Orleans Office of Technology Management vet and validate the commercial viability of inventions of LSU Health New Orleans clinical physician-scientists. Vantedge Ventures Fund will work with their partners to fund and further commercialize the innovations and companies created from LSU Health New Orleans technology.
