Cardiovascular Institute of the South (CIS) is celebrating American Heart Month this February by creating awareness of cardiovascular disease prevalence and prevention. CIS is offering free cardiovascular screenings at various locations throughout the month to aid in early detection.
Ochsner Children’s congenital heart program has once again achieved surgical results that rank among the best nationally, according to the most recent data analysis from the Society of Thoracic Surgeons (STS). This distinction, based on analysis of results over a four-year period, places Ochsner’s outcomes within the top 10% of programs nationally.

The Adult Critical Care Unit at St. Tammany Health System’s flagship St. Tammany Parish Hospital have been recognized with a gold-level Beacon Award for Excellence from the American Association of Critical-Care Nurses for 2025.
St. Tammany is one of only three Louisiana institutions to receive the recognition and the only one on the Northshore.
Terrebonne General Health System (Terrebonne General) and Fletcher Technical Community College (Fletcher) have expanded the Nursing and Allied Health Programs (N&AH) on the Fletcher campus. The addition of this dedicated Nursing and Allied Health corridor at Fletcher will centralize all existing N&AH programs into one location, enhancing collaboration and operational efficiency.
