Ascension DePaul Services (ADS) and DePaul Community Health Centers (DCHC) announce the appointment of Matthew Picard as the vice president of mission integration.

Picard graduated from the University of Holy Cross - New Orleans with a Bachelor of Arts in Theology and went on to earn a Master of Science in Management.

In his role as vice president of mission integration, Picard will foster a cohesive community, provide leadership in orientation and formation, promote spirituality among associates, advocate for diversity and inclusion, and contribute to hiring decisions.

Lege, who has served as Touro's interim CEO and chief medical officer, brings more than two decades of medical expertise and healthcare leadership to his new role.

Terrebonne General Health System earned an “A” hospital safety grade from the Leapfrog Group, a national nonprofit watchdog that sets standards for excellence in patient care for the second consecutive term.  Leapfrog assigns an “A,” “B,” “C,” “D,” or “F” grade to general hospitals across the country based on over 30 national performance measures reflecting errors, accidents, injuries, and infections, as well as the systems hospitals have in place to prevent harm.

LCMC Health announced that four of its hospitals have earned an “A” hospital safety grade from The Leapfrog Group, a national leader and advocate in hospital transparency. Leapfrog assigns an “A,” “B,” “C,” “D” or “F” grade to general hospitals across the country based on over 30 measures of errors, accidents, injuries, and infections as well as the systems hospitals have in place to prevent them.  

Hospitals that earned an “A” hospital safety grade from The Leapfrog Group include:

Xavier University of Louisiana (Xavier) has announced continued progress with Ochsner Health (Ochsner) to launch their Xavier Ochsner College of Medicine (XOCOM). This groundbreaking partnership marks a significant milestone in advancing medical education by addressing health disparities in diverse communities and helping fulfill the urgent need for more physicians in Louisiana and the nation. The new medical school will be in the burgeoning BioDistrict New Orleans, located downtown in Benson Tower next to Caesars Superdome.
