Terrebonne General Health System welcomed Barton Wax, MD, board-certified orthopedic hand surgeon, to Terrebonne General and Gulf Coast Orthopedics.  He will join the orthopedic group specializing in hand surgery, where he will treat various conditions affecting the hand, wrist, and elbow.

Lakeview Hospital will host the 2025 Boo Fest on the grounds on Oct. 25 from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. (Rain date: Sunday, Oct. 26). This Halloween tradition invites children of all abilities to enjoy a day filled with trick-or-treating, ghoulish games, spooky snacks, arts and crafts, a photo booth, and a costume contest with prizes for “Cutest,” “Scariest,” “Most Original,” and “Best Group.”

Terrebonne General Health System and Southern Regional Medical Corporation (SRMC) Board of Commissioners announce the appointment of two new board members, Mark S. Felger, CPA-retired, and Jerome P. Zeringue. 

​Felger obtained a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Nicholls State University in 1990. He is the treasurer and CFO of Bremark, Inc. d/b/a Felger’s Footwear.

Louisiana Center for Health Equity will hold its 10th annual 2025 Health Summit in New Orleans from Sept. 23-24. The theme is “LA40by2030 Mapping the Distance to the Goal.” Since its inception, the Health Summit has become a platform for collaboration, strategy, and action toward better health outcomes for all Louisianans. Regularly held in Baton Rouge, this year’s summit will bring individuals from across the state and nation to New Orleans.

The ultimate goal of the collective work is LA40by2030, or for Louisiana to rank in the top 40th states for health outcomes by 2030.
