ACCESS (Adapting and Changing Children’s Environments with Successful Solutions), a nonprofit fund of the Northshore Community Foundation, has announced that the 9th annual Boo Fest will be held on the grounds of Lakeview Regional Medical Center on Oct. 27 from 10 a.m.- 3 p.m. The popular Northshore event benefits children with disabilities and their families, but is open to children of all abilities. The gates open for early admission for special needs families at 9 a.m., followed by general admission at 10 a.m. for the entire community. Admission is only $2 per person.

Eat Fit NOLA, a nonprofit initiative of Ochsner Health System, has teamed up with Pigeon Catering & Events to bring more nutritious meals to students, offering Eat Fit on the menus of 12 local schools.
Founded in 2013 by Ochsner Fitness Center Registered Dietitian Molly Kimball, the Eat Fit team of dietitians works closely with local restaurants, markets, and now foodservice partners, like Pigeon, to help make the healthy choice an easy choice throughout the community.
Local businesses raised more than $40,000 for the UnitedHealthcare Children’s Foundation (UHCCF) at a recent dinner event in Covington, La. The businesses’ generosity will help fund medical grants for families in the New Orleans area who need support paying for their children’s medical bills.
