St. Tammany Health System has earned the American Heart Association’s Get With The Guidelines-Stroke Gold quality achievement, awarded in recognition of the health system’s commitment to ensuring stroke patients receive the most appropriate treatment according to nationally recognized, research-based guidelines, ultimately leading to more lives saved and reduced disability.
The award is bolstered by two advanced AHA recognitions:
DePaul Community Health Centers (DCHC) will celebrate National Health Center Week from Aug. 4-Aug. 9 by hosting several health and wellness events throughout the metro New Orleans area. Events include a ribbon cutting on Aug. 9 for a new, 20,000 square foot health center, located at 2801 General DeGaulle Drive in Algiers. National Health Center Week, sponsored by the National Association of Community Health Centers, is an annual celebration which raises awareness about the mission and accomplishments of America’s health centers.
A federal jury convicted a Louisiana physician yesterday for conspiring to illegally distribute over 1.8 million doses of Schedule II controlled substances, including oxycodone and morphine, and for defrauding healthcare benefit programs of more than $5.4 million.
