Chosen Diagnostics is announced it has received a $224,758 Small Business Innovation Research Program (SBIR) Phase I grant from the National Science Foundation (NSF) for development and commercialization of its biomarker for noninvasive detection of necrotizing enterocolitis (NEC), a disease primarily seen in preterm infants.

St. Tammany Health System continues to offer COVID-19 antibody testing at diagnostic clinics in both Mandeville and Covington.

No appointment is necessary, although patients will need a physician’s order and an activated MyChart account (STPH.org/MyChart) to receive a result.

DePaul Community Health Centers (DCHC), in collaboration with community partners Total Community Action and Second Harvest, hosted a food giveaway at the DCHC Warehouse on Short Street.

The Louisiana Department of Health has contracted with 11 partners as part of its  comprehensive testing plan that will be submitted on May 30 to the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, which outlines how the state will increase testing across the state, especially in congregate settings where the risk of spread is high.

DePaul Community Health Centers (DCHC) offers free COVID-19 virus testing at nine of its 10 health centers (excludes Higgins site) located in metro New Orleans. DCHC’s increased testing capacity comes as a result of collaborating with both Louisiana Healthcare Connections and Quest Diagnostics to test both symptomatic and asymptomatic individuals in underserved communities.
