This voluntary re-accreditation, which requires adherence to 35 quality care standards, is valid for three years. Abdul Khan, MD, appointed CEO of Ochsner River Region Ochsner Health announced Abdul Khan, MD, has been named the new chief executive officer of Ochsner River Region1. In this role, Khan will maintain oversight of Ochsner facilities and care offered in Kenner, Luling, Destrehan, and LaPlace, including Ochsner Medical Center – Kenner, Och- sner Medical Complex – River Parishes, and St. Charles Parish Hospital. “I am deeply honored to serve as CEO of Och- sner River Region. It is a privilege to be part of an organization that is committed to our community and transforming lives through innovative, com- passionate care. I look forward to building on our strong foundation, advancing patient outcomes and serving the community to meet their needs,” said Khan. Khan began his career at Ochsner in 2008 as an internal medicine resident. He served as chief medical resident of his class. After gaining addi- tional experience outside the organization, Khan returned to Ochsner in 2015 as a senior pulmonary disease and critical care physician. Throughout the last decade, Khan has held several leadership positions including vice pres- ident of medical affairs at both St. Bernard Par- ish Hospital and Ochsner Medical Center – Ken- ner. More recently, he served as associate medical director of Ochsner River Region in 2023 before being named regional medical director of South Shore community hospitals and the Bayou region. Kate Baumann, NP, Joins Terrebonne General Internal Medicine Specialists Terrebonne General Health System welcomed Kate Baumann, NP, to the Terrebonne General Internal Medicine Specialists team. Baumann joins Fadi Abou-Issa, MD, and Nancy Faucheaux, NP, to manage common and complex medical condi- tions in adult patients, such as hypertension, dia- betes, arthritis, immunologic disorders, and more. Baumann obtained both a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and Master of Science from Nicholls State University. She has 14 years of experience as a registered nurse, taking care of patients in specialized areas like critical care, emergency, and medical-surgical units. It is one of just 36 U.S. hospitals to earn this honor. Launched in 2024, the Recognized Leader in Caring for People Living with Diabetes pro- gram evaluates hospitals based on their care for patients with diabetes during admission, hospital stay and discharge. The program uses the ADA’s Standards of Care in Diabetes alongside Leap- frog’s standards for excellence in hospital safety and quality. Terrebonne General | Mary Bird Perkins Cancer Center Welcomes NewFoundation Philanthropy Coordinator Terrebonne General | Mary Bird Perkins Cancer Center welcomed Paige Pierce as the new foun- dation philanthropy coordinator. In this role, she will lead philanthropic initiatives, develop fund- raising strategies, and cultivate donor relation- ships, focusing on the Cancer Center and local cancer patients. She previously served as director of alumni affairs at Nicholls State University, where she strengthened alumni connections and led fund- raising efforts. Paige holds a Master of Business Administration with a concentration in Human Resource Management from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette and a Bachelor of Science in Management from Nicholls State University.
