The Obesity Action Coalition (OAC), along with the YMCA of Greater New Orleans and Dryades YMCA, will help New Orleans residents to learn more about their weight and health, receive a free health screening, and much more during the YWM Healthy Living EXPO. The EXPO will be hosted at the Sheraton New Orleans on Aug. 12 from 8 a.m.-5 p.m. The event is free for all New Orleans residents to attend.
Local residents will have the opportunity to visit a diverse array of vendors showcasing proven devices, products, and services in the health and wellness industry. “Today, more than 36 percent of Louisiana residents are impacted by the disease of obesity. We felt a strong need to partner with the YMCAs in the local area, and to offer residents a free opportunity to learn more about their weight, and how it impacts their health,” said Joe Nadglowski, OAC President and CEO.
The YWM Healthy Living EXPO will offer access and exposure to quality education, and to vetted products/services designed to help manage weight and health. The event provides the opportunity to take part in a free Health Screening to assess an individual’s current health status. Participants will also receive samples and giveaways, and can visit more than 30 vendor booths.
