Mary Bird Perkins Cancer Center in Metairie Welcomes J. Christian Winters, MD, FACS

Mary Bird Perkins Cancer Center in Metairie added Jack Christian (“Chris”) Winters, MD, FACS, a urologist and urologic surgeon known for reconstructive urology, including the evaluation and treatment of bladder dysfunction especially after prior cancer treatments, urinary incontinence, bladder compliance abnormalities, and urodynamics.

Winters has more than 30 years of experience in academic medicine, clinical care, and healthcare leadership. He earned a bachelor’s degree from Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge, graduating in 1984, and a medical degree from the Louisiana State University School of Medicine in 1988.

Board-certified by the American Board of Urology, Winters is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons and has received numerous honors for his contributions to urology and medical education, including being elected as the president of the American Board of Urology, the Lifetime Achievement Award from the Society of Urodynamics, Female Pelvic Medicine and Urogenital Reconstruction and the Distinguished Contribution Award from the American Urological Association. 

Winters is now practicing in Metairie.
