STQN Announces Medical Director’s Award

St. Tammany Quality Network (STQN) announced that Christine Thurston, MD, has been awarded the Northshore organization’s Medical Director’s Award for the third quarter of 2025. 

The STQN Primary Care Quality Scorecard measures such things as hypertension control, diabetes management, diabetic retinopathy screening, and vascular disease care. It also measures smoking quit rates. Thurston was recognized for achieving scorecard goals early in the year.

Thurston works in the St. Tammany Physicians Network clinic in Mandeville (201 St. Ann Drive). She has been with St. Tammany Health System for almost five years.  She earned an undergraduate degree from American University in Washington, D.C., before earning a medical degree from the Virginia College of Osteopathic Medicine in Blacksburg. She is board-certified in internal medicine and is currently working on completing certification in obesity management medicine.
