DIEEP Partners to Host Maternal and Mental Health Summit

DePaul Community Health Centers’ Infant Empowerment and Education Program (DIEEP), Crescent City Family Services, and United Healthcare are hosting Rewriting the Narrative: Blooming in Maternal and Mental Health Summit today, Aug. 6 at Reverie Orleans, 2222 Poydras St.

The event, which is free and open to all mothers, mother figures, and those who uplift and support mothers, will begin with registration at 8 a.m., leading into opening remarks and panel discussions at 9 a.m.

Attendees will hear presentations covering topics like motherhood, postpartum depression, healthcare policies, and community advocacy. Some of the event speakers include:

-Louisiana State Representative Gary Carter, Jr., District 7

-Robert Maupin, MD, division chief, Section of Maternal/Fetal Medicine, Warren C. Plauche’ Professor of Clinical Obstetrics and Gynecology

-Veronica Gillispie-Bell, MD, ob-gyn and associate professor at Ochsner Health, NO

-Deborah Frazier, president of the National Healthy Start Association.
