Terrebonne General Health System welcomed Barton Wax, MD, board-certified orthopedic hand surgeon, to Terrebonne General and Gulf Coast Orthopedics. He will join the orthopedic group specializing in hand surgery, where he will treat various conditions affecting the hand, wrist, and elbow.
Wax received a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology, Human Movement Science, Summa Cum Laude from Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge. He received a Doctor of Medicine and then completed an orthopaedic surgery residency at Louisiana State University Health Science Center in New Orleans. He then completed a hand fellowship at the University of Miami, Department of Orthopaedic Surgery, affiliated with Jackson Memorial Hospital in Miami.
He is board-certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery for general orthopedic surgery and subspecialty in hand surgery. He is a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, the Louisiana Orthopedic Association, and the American Society for Surgery of the Hand.
