Vizient Southern States recognized St. Tammany Parish Hospital with a regional Brilliance Award as a result of being selected to present at the 2018 Vizient Fall Connections Summit earlier this month.
The award, presented to hospital employees Bert Lindsey and Ashley Wilson, recognizes STPH’s RADEO Committee, a hospital task force focused on Reducing Adverse Drug Events related to Opiods (RADEO).
The STPH abstract Lindsey and Wilson presented at the summit, “Reviving Non-Pharmacological Modalities: Acute-Care Response to the Opioid Epidemic,” was one of 472 abstracts submitted and one of only six to earn Brilliance Award recognition; STPH is Louisiana’s only hospital recognized this year.
“Congratulations to St. Tammany Parish Hospital and especially Bert Lindsey and Ashley Wilson for their exceptional work,” said Bill Senneff FACHE, president and CEO of Vizient Southern States, a membership alliance for not-for-profit healthcare providers. “We appreciate all that your hospital is doing to provide high quality care to the patients and families you serve.”
The six outstanding entries had to meet criteria in the areas of definition (background), data, and outcomes in one or more of the following categories—organizational transformation/”systemness,” delivery system innovation/population health improvement, quality and safety improvement, new payment and risk management strategies, and pharmacy strategies for quality, safety, and cost enhancement.
