MaryAnn O’Brien Joins LCMC Health as Chief Compliance Officer

MaryAnn O’Brien has been appointed the chief compliance officer for LCMC Health. In this capacity, she will function as the CCO and privacy officer for LCMC Health and its affiliated organizations. 

The CCO will design, develop, implement, and manage a system-wide compliance program to prevent illegal, unethical, or improper conduct consistent with the Department of Health and Human Services Office of Inspector General’s compliance guidance.

O’Brien is an attorney and compliance professional with 15 years of experience working in the healthcare industry in various capacities. After graduating from Louisiana State University’s Paul M. Hebert Law Center, O’Brien worked in healthcare regulatory compliance at the Department of Veterans Affairs and in a compliance leadership role at Ochsner Health System, where she specialized in HIPAA, CIN, and ACO compliance, and the regulation of clinical research.

Prior to entering law school, she spent more than 10 years in healthcare administration management in inpatient, outpatient, ambulatory care, and clinical research settings at leading institutions, such as Cedars Sinai Medical Center, UCLA Health System, and USC Keck School of Medicine. O’Brien has obtained certification in healthcare research compliance (CHRC) and is licensed to practice law in Louisiana and Texas.
