Louisiana Healthcare Connections Sponsors Pretty Girls Jump Health & Wellness Festival

Louisiana Healthcare Connections announced its partnership as the presenting sponsor of the 2023 Pretty Girls Jump Health & Wellness Festival. The festival, dedicated to promoting physical fitness and holistic wellness, will take place on June 30, from 3-7 p.m. at McDonogh 35 Senior High School, located at 4000 Cadillac Street in New Orleans.

The Pretty Girls Jump Health & Wellness Festival is an upbeat, community event, aimed at empowering girls as well as others to adopt healthy lifestyle habits while instilling confidence and self-esteem. The festival offers a variety of activities for all ages, including health and wellness resources, nutritional guidance, and health screenings.

TV personality and founder of “Weight No More,” Toya Johnson-Rushing is bringing the event and her double dutch team to compete in New Orleans.

“These competitions promote physical activity and healthy choices,” said Rushing. “Our aim is to empower Louisianans to make positive choices to impact their overall health and prospects. I am happy to work with Louisiana Healthcare Connections to co-sponsor this fun day of health and wellness for the entire community.”

In addition to the jump rope competition and screenings, the festival will also feature a vendor marketplace with health-related products and services, ensuring attendees have access to valuable resources to continue their wellness journey beyond the event. The DePaul Community Health Center and National Medical Association will provide screenings for vision, blood pressure, cholesterol, glucose, A1C, HIV testing, FIT to Jump assessments, maternal health education, dental check-ups, and fluoride treatments, to name a few. There will also be free dinner tickets provided to the first 500 attendees who complete health screenings.

“Louisiana Healthcare Connections recognizes the importance of early intervention and prevention in promoting a lifetime of wellbeing, and we are proud to sponsor the 2023 Pretty Girls Jump Health & Wellness Festival," said Louisiana Healthcare Connections President and CEO Jamie Schlottman. "We believe that investing in the health and wellness of our communities begins with our youngest members. By partnering with Pretty Girls Jump, we hope to inspire and empower girls and all members of the community to lead healthy lifestyles."

All members of the community are invited to attend. The event is free, but seating for the competition is limited! Register as soon as possible to secure a spot at https://lhcc.regfox.com/jump-attend
