Ambassadors for the public awareness campaign, The New 50, Harry Connick, Jr., and his wife, Jill Connick, will host an event to encourage attendees age 50 and older to talk with their healthcare provider about colon cancer screening.
The free event will be held Sept. 20 from 6-8 p.m. at the House of Blues, 225 Decatur St. in New Orleans.
Attendees can pledge to get screened by joining the #ScreenWithMe Challenge, and generate support for colon cancer research and advocacy efforts.
The event will feature prizes, a drawing for the chance to meet and be photographed with Harry and Jill, hors d’oeuvres, and more, as well as exhibits hosted by local health and wellness organizations
The event is sponsored by Exact Sciences and supported by The New 50 campaign partners which include Colorectal Cancer Alliance, Fight Colorectal Cancer, and the Vince Lombardi Cancer Foundation.
