DePaul Community Health Centers (DCHC) will offer free foot inspections and vision screenings to the general public on World Diabetes Day, Friday, Nov. 14, at its health center located at 5630 Read Blvd. in New Orleans East. The screenings will be provided on a first-come, first-served basis from 9 a.m.-4 p.m.
Free foot inspections will be conducted by podiatrist Dr. Michelle Donaldson-Bailey, while the vision screenings will be provided by trained clinical staff to help participants identify potential early signs of diabetes-related eye conditions.
In addition to providing these important screenings, DCHC’s medical team will share information about its Diabetes Group Visits, which are available at multiple DCHC locations in both Jefferson and Orleans Parishes. Participants will also receive free health-related giveaway items, such as educational materials, health tools, and self-care products.
