The Daughters of Charity Health Centers and Abundance of Desire, along with Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc.’s Alpha Beta Omega Chapter, Second Harvest Food Bank, Aetna, UnitedHealthcare Community Plan, Healthy Blue, and other community partners, held a “Family Fall Fest” on Oct. 28 at Abundance of Desire, 3600 Desire Parkway.
The first 300 Desire-area families in attendance received free groceries.
In addition to the food giveaway, the community partners celebrated health literacy month with health screenings, a live Zumba demonstration, a costume contest, screenings on the Daughters of Charity Health Centers “Tooth Bus,” and other community resources.
