Over the last month, Children’s Hospital New Orleans team members have paid it forward to those displaced from the Lake Charles area in the aftermath of Hurricane Laura.
Children’s Hospital and LCMC Health have partnered with the City of New Orleans to provide supply donations, information, and healthcare resources to Lake Charles families who have been displaced in New Orleans following Hurricane Laura at the Family Resource Center located at the Morial Convention Center. Children’s Hospital staff and community members participated in a supply donation drive, collecting hundreds of items for families in need, including toiletries, household items, baby supplies, and clothing.
Children’s Hospital leaders and the hospital’s Behavioral Health Team have also made two weekend trips to Lake Charles, supporting residents with hot meals, donated items, and helping clean up damaged houses. Children’s partnered with the Lemoine Company to provide this assistance, supporting employees of Lake Charles Memorial Health System.
