Harold Ellis Clark--DePaul Community Health Center’s (DCHC) vice president for Communications, External Affairs, and Fund Development--is supporting the American Cancer Society (ACS) by serving as a 2023 Men Wear Pink ambassador. Clark’s family has been impacted by cancer, and as ambassador, he is striving to raise a minimum of $2,500 for the ACS New Orleans.
Lakeview Hospital announced the addition of Michael Dupré, MD, to its General Surgery Department. Dupré is a board-certified general surgeon specializing in laparoscopy, endoscopy, and robotic procedures. He is employed by LCMC Health and provides evaluation and management of disorders of the alimentary tract, endocrine system, hernias, breast disease, wound care, and trauma management.
The Foundation for Terrebonne General Health System received a donation of $17,000 from the Cooper Life Fund. The annual Super Cooper 5K is hosted by John and Ashley Fontenot of the Cooper Life Fund and raises money for families of newborn infants with severe medical conditions admitted to Terrebonne General’s Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU).
St. Tammany Health System President and CEO Joan M. Coffman, FACHE, has been appointed to serve as chair of the board of directors of Vizient Southern States, an alliance of not-for-profit healthcare providers.
Coffman’s two-year term runs through spring 2025.
The Ochsner Cancer Institute has earned a distinguished three-star rating from The Society of Thoracic Surgeons (STS) for its patient care and lung cancer resection (lung lobectomy) outcomes. The three-star rating, which denotes the highest category of quality, places the Ochsner Cancer Institute in the top 2.5% of thoracic surgery programs in the United States and Canada.
