The 49th Annual Over and Under Tunnel Run 5k is set to take place on March 16 starting at 3 p.m. at the Houma Municipal Auditorium. Proceeds from the event will benefit the Foundation for Terrebonne General Health System.
The Over and Under Tunnel Run encourages living a healthy lifestyle, and 100% of all proceeds will remain in the community.

The Louisiana State Health Department recently released that Louisiana and South Carolina hold among the highest rates of flu activity in the U.S.
LDH also confirmed the first flu-related death of a child for this season. The death hailed from the Baton Rouge area.
State Epidemiologist Theresa Sokol was quoted as saying, “Activity in the U.S. this year, and really it’s pretty much the same usually from year to year, starts to increase in the southeastern and the south Atlantic states first.” Hospitalizations are on the rise, as well.
DePaul Community Health Centers (DCHC) is once again offering free dental screenings for children on Give Kids A Smile Day, slated for March 2.
The event, which will take place at DCHC Carrollton (3201 S. Carrollton Ave.) from 8 a.m.-1 p.m., will provide children ages one to 10 years of age with free dental screenings and fluoride treatments. Additionally, children will enjoy face-painting, balloon art, story time, characters, and lots of giveaways.
