Lakeview Regional Medical Center, a campus of Tulane Medical Center, announced that Dr. Abigail Chaffin, Dr. John “Blair” Hamner, FACS, and Dr. Thomas Francavilla are now taking office hours at the clinics on Judge Tanner Blvd. in Covington, providing a variety of specialized surgical services to the Northshore region.

Our Lady of the Lake Physician Group is now offering advanced neurological services to its patients on the Northshore with the addition of neurosurgeon Jack Kruse, MD, to the team at Our Lady of the Lake Physician Group Slidell.

Dr. Kruse provides care for head, neck, back, spine, and peripheral nerve injuries and disorders. He treats conditions that include:

North Oaks Health System will hold a town hall forum on Oct. 11, offering the public a chance to find out more about North Oaks, and to discuss the future of healthcare in Louisiana. Hosted by the North Oaks Board of Commissioners and President/Chief Executive Officer Michele Sutton, the forum will take place from 5:30-7 p.m. in the E. Brent Dufreche Conference Center, located within North Oaks Diagnostic Center at 15837 Paul Vega, MD, Dr. in Hammond. While registration is not required, seating is limited.

West Jefferson Medical Center is hosting its Eighth Annual Family Fest on Oct. 13-14, behind the hospital, which is located at  920 Avenue B in Marrero.

The event is free and open to all ages.

Starting at 6 p.m. on Oct. 13, guests will enjoy live music by The Topcats, followed by Ryan Foret & The Foret Tradition. On Oct. 14, from 12 noon through 10 p.m., live music will be performed by Mia Kylie Ditta (singing the National Anthem,) The Joey Thomas Band, Aaron Foret, and Junior & Sumtin’ Sneaky.
