Medical Cannabis Nursing Education Coming to New Orleans

This December, hundreds of nurses, medical researchers, and healthcare practitioners from around the United States will gather in New Orleans to learn, discuss, and advocate for medical applications and treatments involving cannabis and its byproducts.

Cannabis Care is an educational conference for nursing professionals presented in partnership by the American Cannabis Nurses Association (ACNA) and Kellen, a leading association management company. The three-day event will focus on medical research, policy, and trends shaping safe and affordable nursing applications of medical cannabis, CBD, and related products.

The event, Cannabis Care 2019: Nursing and Science, is slated for Dec. 4-6 at the Astor Crowne Plaza Hotel.

Attendees will learn from leaders in research and application of cannabis-based products, beginning with a keynote address from Dr. Lynda Balneaves, deputy director of the Canadian Consortium for the Investigation of Cannabinoids, president of the Society for Integrative Oncology, and associate professor at the University of Manitoba. Balneaves will be accompanied by speakers from across the U.S. working to ensure sound treatment options and education opportunities to prepare nurses for the safe application of cannabis in medical practices.
