Louisiana Healthcare Connections Expands Leadership Team

Louisiana Healthcare Connections, the state’s largest Medicaid health plan with more than 475,000 members and offices in Baton Rouge, New Orleans, Covington, and Lafayette, has expanded its leadership team. Those individuals include:

Rachel Broussard, RPh, has been named the senior director of pharmacy. Prior to joining Louisiana Healthcare Connections as the director of pharmacy in 2013, Rachel served as a pharmacist with the Louisiana Department of Health’s Medicaid division, where she oversaw pharmacy benefits management, including claims processing, prior authorizations, and PDL processes. Formerly a pharmacist with both Woman’s Hospital and Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center, Rachel holds a Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy from the University of Louisiana at Monroe.

Candace Campbell has been named the director of operations. Previously the senior manager of claims and contract support for Louisiana Healthcare Connections, Candace has more than 10 years’ experience in quality assurance, claims processing, and physician billing, and led claim projects to ensure efficient and timely resolution and reimbursement for healthcare providers. Before joining Louisiana Healthcare Connections in 2016, she served as the accounts receivable manager for Baton Rouge General Physicians.

Mohab Eskaros has been named the director of provider data and analytics. Prior to joining Louisiana Healthcare Connections, Mohab, a native of the Greater Philadelphia area, was the provider network services outcome manager for Independence Blue Cross in Philadelphia, Penn. He brings nearly 20 years of experience in healthcare analytics, strategic planning, and corporate forecasting to Louisiana Healthcare Connections. He holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration and management from Fairleigh Dickinson University.

John Kight, DNP, RN, NEA-BC, has been named the senior vice president of clinical operations. John brings more than 30 years of applied hospital and healthcare industry experience in the areas of clinical research, nursing education, Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), U.S. Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), and patient safety. Prior to joining Louisiana Healthcare Connections, he served as vice president of nursing operations for CHRISTUS Spohn Health System, South Texas’ largest hospital system comprised of six hospital campuses and family health centers. John holds numerous degrees in nursing, including a doctor of nursing practice from Chatham University, an M.S. in nursing from Graceland University, and a B.S. in nursing from Excelsior College.

Jennifer Pinkins, PAHM, CHC, has been named the director of claims and contract support services. Formerly the director of health plan service operations at Memorial Hermann Health System in Houston, Texas, Jennifer brings more than 25 years of experience in insurance operations and strategic process improvement to Louisiana Healthcare Connections. Certified as a PAHM by the Academy for Health Care Management, Jennifer holds a Bachelor of Science in Business from the University of Phoenix.

Kevin Serrin, MS, has been named the director of operations for shared services. Previously a project manager for Louisiana Healthcare Connections, Kevin serves as chairman of the Centene Project Management Coalition. Prior to joining Louisiana Healthcare Connections in 2016, Kevin served as a senior consultant for Pitts Management Associates, Inc., and the director of health care affairs at the Association of American Medical Colleges (AAMC). He holds an M.S. in health care management from Marymount University and a bachelor of science degree from Western Michigan University.
